October 2018

As part of an event on behalf of The Save Movement UK- "Activist Burnout & Self Care Workshop" I taught a short Yoga/ Mindful Movement session, followed by a guided meditation.

The event was held at Prana, a vegan cafe in Leicester, and was on a donation basis. All attendees were activists from the movement who bear witness of farmed animals en route to slaughter.

One of The Eight Limbs of Yoga is "Ahimsa" which can simply be defined as none harming or none violence (physically or emotionally) to any other living being. For me following this is part of my Yoga and  I therefore  lead a vegan lifestyle to the very best of my ability.

"The Save Movement is comprised of groups around the world who bear witness of pigs, cows, chickens and other farmed animals en route to slaughter. Our goals are to raise awareness about the plight of farmed animals, to help people become vegan, and to build a mass-based, grassroots animal justice movement.  The Save Movement started in December 2010 with the inception of  Toronto Pig Save. Today there are over  330 groups  in Canada, the U.S., U.K. & Ireland, Australia, continental Europe, Hong Kong, South Asia, East Asia, South Africa, Mexico and Central/South America."
